I am getting ready to buy a A7N8X, 1GB of DDR400 and have a question about the type of memory I should get. I was going to get the Corsair CMX512-3200C2 modules, but I have found a some spec on that module that say
Latency: 2-3-3-T1 (one module installed)
Latency: 2.5-3-3-T2 (two modules installed)
but the Corsair website no longer tells you the CL for two modules installed
and was wondering...
1) If this was just the old specs
2) Are still the valid specs
and if so would the Nvidia dual memory controllers fix this problems?
What memory type should I get? And what would the timing settings be (best and worse case)?
Two <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=manufactory&catalog=147&manufactory=1455&DEPA=0&sortby=14&order=1" target="_new">Crucial 512MB DDR333 PC2700 Memory modules</A> would be a perfect fit. This memory has been shown to reach DDR390 speed, could go faster.
well, im no pro in this area, but i mean the memory i got is suposed to handle 427mhz and its cl2, its that corsair 5300. but tests show for the most part that running the a7n8x is faster at 333 than 400. go read thg's review again fully. kinda explains it. it all gets too noisy at 400. i read in a post about some memory though that could actualy handle the 400, but even still, the 333 still just makes sense to me, it matches the fsb speed, it goes at cl2 and at that setting the OC is nice. im still doing retail Fan, cant decide on what watercooling unit to get yet. that Exos from koolance is pretty spiffy. wish THG would get into that area again. all i hear is everyone waiting for the big hammers and whatnot to come out so the heatspreader days will finaly happen, but there has been such a gap and millions of chips sold withought good reviews on cpu coolers.
