Crash,

I know you might know something about this board. Tom did a review on it a loooooooonnnnnnnnngggggggggg time ago.

I just picked one up today on my way to work. Someone was mistakingly throwing it out. (Silver... I know you would appreciate that comment. Both of our Old PC Habits are worse that someone on Crack.)

Anyway, have you had any experience with one of these HX Chipsets?

I have a box of processors and EDO to boot. I am thinking of firing up this bad boy when I get home. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any bugs in this thing.

Thanks.

I just found an article that Frank V. did that shows how to run a AMD K6-2+ 500 in it. The PCI bus is at 41MHz but I thought that it was cool.

Has anyone run one of these?

Easy to do, I can't remember all the model numbers for Asus boards, but any core voltage from 2.2v to 2.8v works, so if your board supports MMX or newer processor voltages, you don't need a voltage adapter.

2.2v is best, but like I said, up to 2.8v will work. Overvolting needs overcooling, you will want a $10 Athlon/Duron/PIII cooler or better, nothing extreme, just something better than standard. 2x=6x with the K6-2 350 and up, so 400 is easy using the 2x multiplier and 66.6MHz bus speed.
