I remember i had this game a long time ago, but i totally forgot it's name .
 
It was something like this, you build these buildings that attract adventurers (theifs, warriors, mages), but you do not directly control them. You could build stores that sell potions, armour, weapons etc. The camera was a top down view and everything was pixels (its pretty old). To have the residents of your city attack monsters (which where the objective on some missions), you had to put a reward on the monster's head, and the residents would go and hunt it down. I think they where developing a sequel to the game with the same name, but i'm not sure on this.
