Hi guys. I just bought my Windows 98 SE full version cds and I am going to install it on my old Packard Bell. It has Intel 440EX chipsets. I wonder whether the Windows 98SE supports the chipsets or not. If it does, then I don't have to install it. If it don't, then I will have to install it.

What if in my device manager reports a correct chipsets that I'm running, is that ok or do I still need to install the chipset drivers?

Here is what I've got from Intel site and also downloaded the file:
----------------------------------------------------------
INF Update Utility [INFINST_ENU.EXE] (1355KB) 4.10.1012 Download 11/13/2002
This utility installs INF files that inform the operating system how to properly configure the chipset for specific functionality such as USB and AGP.
Readme (txt) Release Notes (htm)
OS: Windows* 2000, Windows* 98 SE, Windows* Me, Windows* XP Home Edition, Windows* XP Professional
Download File(s): English 1355KB, Multi language 2434KB

Thanks you guys. I appreciate all the helps.

98SE has built in drivers for the EX chipset. I believe the EX is a limited feature version of the LX, 98SE supports the EX, LX, BX, ZX and older chipsets with built in drivers.
