Hello. Are you planning to buy a motherboard with this chipset or do you already have it? What operating system (full-version) do you have? Windows XP? Windows 98? Other?

<i>It's your world kid!!!</i>

Thanks for your reply. In fact I have 3 M/B, I850, I845 and SIS648. I'm planning to assamble PC for my frined. I Need it to work with WinXP. Also I need it to support P4 3.06 Ghz. I feel afraid to lost the old m/b (I850, I845) on my selves. Also I don't want to assamble a M/B that doesn't support P4 3.06.

Windows XP supports HT. You have Windows XP, so that's a good thing.

Intel Penitum4 Chipset Hyperthreading(HT) Support List
======================================================
Intel 850E: Yes, supports Hyperthreading
Intel 845G: no (yes, Step 2)
Intel 845E: no (yes, Step 2)
Intel 850: no
Intel 845GE: yes
Intel 845PE: yes
Intel 845GV: yes
Intel 845D: no

SiS Penitum4 Chipset Hyperthreading(HT) Support List
======================================================
SiS 645DX: no
SiS 645: no
SiS 648: no (SiS will implement HT for the SiS648 in late December)

Which specific i850 and i845 boards do you have? I'm already clear about the G8SG667. Just to make sure I get this right, you're planning to pick one of these three boards, all of which you already have, to build a system with a Pentium4 3.06GHz processor?

The board will support NW core CPU's as long as they exist (3.6GHz I believe). It definately WON'T support the 800 bus of the Prescott, but I speculate Intel might release a slower bus version of the Prescott for upgraders. Basically there is NO board on the market right now that can support that 800 bus speed (200MHz real time clock) at all the appropriate settings, you would need a heavily overclockable board, heavily overclocked.
