For those of you who wanted to know how far can the CryEngine 2 push its limits, well here's a video giving you an idea what this engine is capable of.
Nota: I highly recommend viewing this video in HD but the SD video is purely realtime (with no comparison). Nota 2: If you do choose HD, it will bring you to another site.
Sincerely,
Alex

Not bad. Its pretty good. I was amazed when Source first came out back in 2004. I wounder if they are working on a huge update for it? I know they added mothion blurring for TF2.
This engine has possibilities as well. May take a while but maybe.
i doubt valve will do that as although the source engine i believe is capable of more realism or photo realism than it currently has, i do not believe they would alienate people with lower specs than it would require.
remember, they use their steam program to great effect with their hardware survey's and know exactly what their client base uses and i do not think they will ever make the source engine too ahead of mainstream tech.
If you listen to the dev commentaries you can hear how they go to quite alot of trouble at times to get the best visuals with the least power. I am not sure if any other game dev's do commentaries but they should follow valve's example.
