I just purchased a new P4 system. Processor is 2.40GHz(B) and motherboard is Intel D845GBV. I installed a Kingstone 256MB (266)DDR RAM and A Volcano Geforce4 MX440 64MB. Hard Drive is seagate Barracuda 40 GB.
Now the problem is that i cant install win98se on it. I dont know i checked it many times but the installation stops on the screen when the setup window comes and the windows is starting it setup, at that place it stops to respond. The only OS it installes is WIN 2000 and WIN XP on a very slow speed. If any one of u people know whats the problem is, than PLZ tell me.

Have you gone into your BIOS and selected "setup defaults"? From your post, am I to understand you can install the newer Windows2000 and WindowsXP successfully? That would make me think this machine just has too much new stuff in it that Win98SE doesn't recognize. I couldn't tell from your post exactly how far your Win98 install got... did it stop right at the beginning or did it get to where it was setting up the hardware?

My only other thought would be to check your IDE cables. I've had some pretty strange behavior with a bad cable.
