Hi,
i set up the following:
leadtek k7ncr18d-pro, 2x256 ddr cl 2.5, athlon xp 2200 (tb)
5/12 voltage seems to be sufficient.
rest of hardware is from less interest.
i let the jumper in default i.e. 100/133 fsb and set the bios to 133.
despite flashing to latest version, bios detects cpu as
athlon 550 i.e. 734 mhz
cpuid shows the multiplier as 5.5
shouldn't that be 13.5?
13.5 x 133 = 1795,5 i.e. 2200xp
the cpu was formerly unlocked, bought used from a friend
i removed the bridge since i did not plan to oc.
i tried out clearing cmos, booting with insert-key ... w/o success.

has anyone any idea about that problem?
thx in advance

ps: i'm surely no rookie in setting up pcs but this my first nforce and athlon combo.

Hello. I would read the inscription on the processor to make sure it's 2200+, ignoring all levels of abstraction like BIOS and software.

Hi,
hours later and some gray hairs more ...
i'd really think it works: after the x-th cmos-clearing & insertkey-boot the bios detects an 1350 mhz cpu, i just switched the bios from 100 to 133

A few minutes later, after a certain rest, i turned on the pc again .. and the bug is still alive. again 733 mhz!
I really regret having bought that leadtek instead of asus or msi.
Please Help!
Thx for your suggestions.
Have nice x-mas!
