Hey, I have an Epox 8RDA+ (nforce2 based, very nice board so far) and I'm wondering about buying some new DDR memory. Since I purchased this 8RDA with a new CPU (XP2000) I have my old board and cpu (KT266A motherboard w/ 1.2 GHz) sitting around I was debating on buying two new RAM sticks for the Nforce board and putting the DDR266 back in the older motherboard. The problem is, since I bought the XP2000 CPU mainly to hold me over until the Bartons come out my CPU would have to stay at 266 while the memory was at 333. Has anyone had any problems with such a setup (async cpu/mem)?
I don't have any experience with that, seeing as I'm about to do something similar as you to my own system, hehe! But when u read through the reviews of mobos I think you'll find that it will work to have 333 MHz memory and a FSB of 266. Seems the only small problem it can cause is latency and therefore 333 ram and 333 fsb will be better.
