Hi everyone
I have 4 problems that I need help on.
The problems didn't hit at the same time, but did so over a period of time.

1. I"m having a problem with pc VERY slow when booting up from a new start
up. This is BEFORE the window for inputing password, not after the pc
is started and programs from active programs begin. Sometimes, it takes 4 to
5 minutes, and THEN the password window opens.

2. I am having a problem of not being able to send a website to the Desktop
as a "Shortcut". I have icons on the Desktop from the past, and these are
working correctly. I am able to send them to a folder in "Favorites", and
they are active from there.

3. I am unable to bring up and activate CONTROL PANEL. When I click on
this site, the picture on the desktop stays there, and all icons and bottom
panels dissappear, and then slowly, these start to appear again, but still,
not able to pull up the Control Panel.

4. When shutting down, it takes a very long time for everything to close,
almost as long as Number 1 above.

5. And then just a general question. When using these help locations, I
have noticed the "NOTIFY ME OF REPLIES". I don't understand how to use this
.... does it send up a pop-up, or, an email .. etc. ???

This should keep everyone busy, and I DO appreciate your help in these
problems.

Amber, you say quite a bit, but you have left out all kinds of
information:

-What firewall program so you use?
-What anti-spyware program(s) do you use & do you run them often?
-What anti-virus program do you use?
-Do you have XP's SP2 (service pack 2) or not yet?
-What kind of computer do you have in MHz or GHz?
-How much memory (RAM) do you have?

Then perhaps someone can help.
