I am going to build a new system to a friend. Here's the specs:

AMD Athlon XP 1800+ retail
MSI KT3 Ultra2
256MB PC2700 CL2.5 Samsung
GF3 Ti200 64MB (don't know the brand)
40GB ATA-100 7200rpm 2Mb cache (don't know the brand)

Any comments? (this is the maximum he can spend)

It should be a reliable work horse. Though have you considered an Epox motherboard? They are the pick of the crop next to Asus and they are very reasonabily priced. Like in cheaper than most though still top quality. They can do it because they dont have all the unnecessary and nearly always unused garbage that other Mobo`s are bundled with. (Sorry for the tangent I went on there.)An 8K3A or an 8K5A2 should do very nicely. Though I dont know how much they cost compared to the MSI.

Thanks for the fast reply .

The only problem of Epox MOBOs is that I can't find it in my country, not available at all. The brands I can easyly find here are Asus, Soyo, PCchips, MSI, Shuttle, Biostar, Soltek and ECS.
