I know the ATI AIW9800 installed DAO. though the actual file DAO.msi can't be
found high or low.
I still use word 2k. It works for the few things I need. When it started
requiring access to DAO.msi was the last time I tried to fire up access.
I thought maybe the OS2 needed a complete reinstall. it only takes a sec now.
So I did. fired up access, wanted to export the sheet and it says it can't find
DAO.msi. DAO.msi does exist in the add/remove section. ATI installed I suspect
for the Guideplus data base.
Though add/remove can add and remove it [had to do it every 2-3 days getting
used to XP pro.] a search for DAO or DAO.msi including inside cabinet files
seems to be failing.
Searched the web and it seems I'm not alone in DAO.msi problems with word.
Their problems include roxio and some other programs.
One thing I can quote from another guy. it doesn't seem to affect things if I
keep hitting cancel when it asks for it. cept it takes forever for it to cycle
thru all the lines looking for DAO.msi in the install.
It's just annoying and seems to be useless.
But I suspect I need to tell word or MS office how to find what ever's
masquerading as DAO.msi on the HD. Otherwise ATI will most likely start failing
again.
