Crysis will run fine on that setup. That said, it probably won't run well if you try to max it out completely. What kind of screen resolution will you be using? At 1280x1024 and all settings maxed, you will probably get a little below 20 frames per second, unplayable by most standards.
I rebuilt my nephew's computer using Q6600,eVGA 680i mobo, 2gigs Corsair Dominator 1066mhz and his old 1950XT. It would run Crysis but not at very high settings, but playable. Your card is better so you should get better results.
My system (phenom 9500@2.5, 4 gigs, 3870 512mb) gets 12-15 fps on everything high @ 1280x1024 (vista 64)
so your system will have the same performance. By turning a few things down i get playable framerates (20)

this sounds lower than it should be...are you by any chance using aa?
No AA unless you have SLI I would guess if you like a playable game..? Although the game looks great on my PC without AA so dont get hung up on that.
I play with same PC (4gig of ram not sure how influential it is) + 8800GT at 1400 : 1050 with no AA and it was playable with most settings at high. However I switched most down to medium (maybe even some on low) to get a real smooth game. Dont know what I class as real smooth in FPS but probably close to 60 as I like it to react perfectly.
The most important question is whats your screen resolution?
You can find out FPS using something build into the ATI catalyst or something if I remember correctly from my 9600 Pro days.
what the f*ck is up with your comps? I have a core 2 duo e6420... single 8800 GTS 640 and 2 gigs of ram and I am running at a resolution of 1920 by 1200.... and i get about 30 frames per second all on high and some on very high....... ridiculous... I don't get why my comp can do this but other computers that should be better do worse... anyways 12 k on a year a half year old comp in 3dmark06 ain't bad =D
but I'd recomend crossfiring 2 of those... you get a 3870 X2 for about 50 - 100 less. Also, by having a great processor and a mediocre card... not a good combination try to get stuff all at the same end of the scale... that way you save money and get normal performance ratio and are not underperforming a processor or gpu

Huh?!
Anyway, no one here has contradicted what you just said. Some people just prefer to play at higher frame rates and lower settings. Your 30 fps is unacceptable to some.
There is no way in the world a single 640MB 8800GTS can play Crysis at 19x12 all high/very high and average 30 fps. Not gonna happen. Later in the game, you will be lucky to climb out of single digit framerates. The 8800GTX or even Ultra isn't a 19x12 high/very high card for Crysis.
