I have been trying to set several scheduled tasks using
the wizard. When i click Finish having entered all the
necessary information required by the wizard the following
message appears.

The new task has been created but may not run because the
account information could not be set. The specific error
is 0x80070005.Access is denied. Try using the Task Page
browser button to locate the application. An answer to
this problem would be very welcome

Here's a good place to start:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;884573

I've heard that this may also happen when the Administrator account has (or
does not have, I can't remember which) a blank password.

Kathea has the answer. You cannot schedule a task to run on an account without
a password. Or at least I could not. However once a password was used the
error you mention when away.

You can setup a seperate account just for running tasks and give that a
password if you don't want to be bothered with a password for when you log on
to windows on a day to day basis. Then schedule the tasks to run from the
account you setup just for that purpose.
