I built my system a couple of months back, and people saying that you need a really great built computer to play, I didnt know If I could run it on high settings, even though I got the best of everything at the time.

You can easily check if your computer can play Crysis at my system requirments lab ---> search this on google.

The good thing is I can run it, since I havent played it before, Im pretty sure I can play on high becuz I passed reccemmend by a lot.

If anyone if interested in my results here they are:

Yes you can run crysis albeit no one can run crysis at the highest settings as it is more demanding than current hardware although you could download the demo and try :) good luck wit that nice system.

That ain't true Im running it on all Very High under the XP hack. I get 30~ish frames and it lags when I turn really fast, but it looks awsome. Rez: 1280x1024. People exaggerate with the FPS, :non: running on High doesnt require much more than a 8800GT and a core Duo at least at 3Ghz.

No seriously, XP performance is way better than Vista. Vista is such a needless memory hog. If I wanted an OS just cuz it looked better i'd get window blinds. any way, No AA or AF is on, and I used the DX hack. Get around 25-30 frames, looks awesome though.

Dude no need for your FUD. I have Vista and play Crysis on it and the last ATI drivers added a 15-20% boost in Crysis performance in Vista only. So now its pretty much on par with XP in performance.

No AA or AF is definitely not high settings, and 1280x1024 is a lot less pixels than the HD 1080i that a modern console can handle.

Don't kid yourself. When people talk about max they mean it. AA at least 4X and AF 16X at a resolution of at least 1680x1080.

And I'm getting sick of people whining about how Vista is a memory hog. It's supposed to use all the available memory. It loads all your most frequently used programs into otherwise unused memory, so they can start up faster.

The reason everything's slower on Vista than XP is because the driver makers have had years to get used to the XP APIs and DirectX 9, while Vista and DirectX 10 are totally new to them. They've had to start from scratch really for Vista.

OT: Polarity. yes I concur that people whining about Vista in this capacity is annoying and I agree with your statement that it is down to developer time and exposure to DX10.

But don't forget though that even if you polish a turd it's still a turd and at this stage no amount of developer experience will get around the fact that Vista is a bitch queen that sucks up as much memory as possible, so yeah it is a memory hog (and non-gamers say the same things).

Also, Vista's been out commercially for over a year now and I'm sure you could get hold of the DX10 APIs long before that so I don't think the developers lacking experience is as valid an argument any more - they've had *at least* a year.

When I say play highest settings I mean 4x AA 16x AF all settings very high, resolution 1920x1080 with + 60fps. I can play crysis with the highest settings but its just not sensible with it at 15 - 30 at best during calm moments.

Really? At least 3Ghz core duo?

I am running a AMD X2 4200+ with a clock frequency of 2.2Ghz. I guess Crysis is out of my league then even with my 8800GT.

To the OP... you are surprised that you can run crysis with that behemoth $4,000 computer?

Are you on crack? that computer should crawl up under the desk for some services too for that type of money.

In Vista is **** crysis give me at 3.00Ghz E2180 (2.00Ghz standard) at very high settings 1024*768 like 25 Fps average ... same settigs in Xp 48 average to 50 ...WTF

Yeap i double the speed in crysis with the dx10 hack in xp ... but i obteain the same performance in high settings in both system ... i think the API dx10 in vista just sucks ...

Just play it in vista at high no problema ... or very high in xp ... i have both systems and dirt plays better in vista than xp ... so why dont have the best of both worlds...

Until dx10 works solid in vista is a waist of time ... and i will really be pissed off when a game comes out with dx10 like crysis and without hacks to play it in xp ...

Cmon Microsoft stop foolling people .. u only get me angry ... i think they did that in porpouse to increment chip sales .. greedy bastards ... satan lawyers ...
