Go with DDR definitely!

You have to be fussy with which board/chipset you choose though.

If you don't plan on overclocking, newegg has a refurbished gigabyte 8sg667 with agp 8x support (but no hyperthreading )for $59 shipped. They also have the 8pe667 for $100 with hyperthreading support but no agp 8x. Some boards come bare bones only, so you may have to find some spare cables or download the drivers off gigabyte's website.

Or if you have enough budget, you could go for the almighty Asus P4PE !!!
