sounds interesting... but i think they should leave an option to just stick to "vanilla" in case anything is unbalanced

There is the option to stick with the original three weapons or even mix and match between different models. But you can't carry all six at once. So you have to decide, for example, if you want to play the Medic as the traditional Heavy sidekick or upgrade the weapons and be more of an offensive threat.

looks good, haven't played it in a couple of months what with the witcher and moving house taking up my time, still don't have a wired internet connection yet but will give this a blast when it is released.

still, the unlocking thing reminds me of BF2, the difference being TF2 is actualy playable and not frustrating as hell.

I bought the game based on all the great reviews, loaded it up and haven't play it since. Why? No multiplayer bots for LAN games. No early review mentioned that there were no bots. Now I can't take it back and I feel Valve just stole $50 from me. :(

Bots in TF2? You missed the point. This is a multiplayer class based game, not your average death match. You need to play it online with a server that has teams with 6 or more on them to feel the rush of victory. I never have a problem finding a server with players during any time of the day. (PC version)

While bots could be made, you would not get the needed team work, including mess ups. I could see a bot spy clearing the bridge in 2 fort in seconds. Not for me..

I'm not to sure how some of these 'new items' are going to effect team balance. Considering how only some players will have an item, while others don't. It could make teams shun other players form playing the medic class. I can hear "I can't get the acheivements cause they don't want me to be a medic." or "We don't have anyone on our team that can do that!" already.

I'm sure to see some servers will want the ability to disable them.
