after downloading sp2, my computer wont boot up. it hangs
while loading. i.ve tried the last known good.... and the
safe mode but still wont start. can anyone please please
help help help.

Boot from the XP CD and do a repair install of the existing installation.

If you are trying to install SP2 on a machine with a
Pentium 4 Prescott there are some known issues that will
cause the system to hang doing boot. I have seen a couple
of posts about fixes, unfortunately, I can't tell you
where to find them.

the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Setup program is not completed

Otherwise perform a Repair Installation:

Haven't heard of this one yet and all you did was download it huh? What else
did you download? Sounds to me like a coincidence it's probably something
else you did. Have you tried to install sp2 yet?
