I have been trying for 5 days to stop MSN download of updates. I am on dialup
so it usually takes some time...after many hours download is 53%. how can I
stop it?

Start/Control Panel/Automatic Updates
Tick "Turn Off Automatic Updates"/click Apply and OK

1.. Open Control Panel, and then double-click System.
2.. Click the Automatic Updates tab, and then click to clear the Keep my computer
up to date. With this setting enabled, Windows Update software may be automatically
updated prior to applying any other updates. check box.
