when my pc boots it doesn make the piep tone, the monitor remains black, and the green led which normaly glows constantly green is not shining at all, i can hear only the fans
The green led: on computer or the monitor? if its on the monitor, check all connections: video cable and yes the power. does the computer make any other noises: windows startup or other beeps? Try reseating memory, cpu, and double check all power connections on the motherboard.
it s the green led of the pc, which indicates power if i'm informed.right.i checked all power connections to the mainboard everything seats right.if it was the power the fans would not be functioning, right?
If you have the A7N8X mobo you need to clear the CMOS memory and upon reboot set up the bios correctly. Same thing happened to me. The manual tells you how to clear the memory. Also make sure you have the jumper for fsb set correctly (200 or 266/333) for your processor.
The solution may be obvious, but I can't see it for the smoke coming off my processor.
one month ago i already had problems with this pc, i took it to the hardware store and they made a bios flash. it worked fine for some weeks, so i donno thinkt it has to do with the bios. i m really confused by this green led not shinning...
What's in your system? I was just making a stab in the dark. Knowing what you have will help in the diagnosis. Put it in the Subject of the post and you will get more qualified responses.

If I were a prosecuter I'd put innocent poor people in prison on circumstantial evidence while refusing to prosecute guilty rich people based on "lack of sufficient evidence to build a case".

what means "Uh oh" of course i ve also ram and nic and graphic adapter and all the stuff the pc needs...
as i said before my computer was already running some time ago and then suddenly this happened??!!!
ECS has extremely poor build quality. Probably around 15% of K7S5A boards were defective when they left the factory. Most of the rest have trouble with memory stability and unstable power supplies. The only way to make them run perfectly is to use top quality memory and power. Oh get lucky.
