I purchased a Asus P4T-E Motherboard when it was first out and installed a P4-1.7Ghz Socket 478 processor. At the time this board was released, it was advertised to be able to handle up to a 2.4 Ghz processor which was the fastest at the time. My question is what is the fastest processor I can install into this motherboard? Can I use the fastest socket 478 chip available, say a 3.0 Ghz? I've been to Asus' website and can find no information, and all of the BIOS updates listed make no mention of additional processor support. Any help, direction or advise would be greatly appreciated as I want to upgrade my system soon. Thanks in advance everyone.
