Hello Peoples,
I'm pretty bored at the moment having just finished KOTOR 2 for the 16th time. Now is there any game anybody can think of similiar to KOTOR (and fun as well)? Might go for Mass Effect, What do you think?

only role playing game i have played recently is the witcher, however, it is a little too mature for a youngster like you so you had better not have played it.

hmm, looking at your specs how the hell you manage to play anything with that intergrated gfx is beyond me.

why don't you go outside and have innocent fun.

Jade Empire is another Bioware RPG with very similar style.

It is set in an ambiguously asian empire and has a fun, engaging plot.  I would say that while it fell far short of how good KOTOR was, it was still a very good game.  It is available on the PC and the Xbox.

Mass Effect is coming to the PC soon and I would very highly recommend it.  Very interesting plot and characters.  Still not as good as KOTOR, but a lot of fun.

Dragon Age is the next RPG by Bioware to come out.  It will be more similar to Baldur's Gate 2 than to KOTOR, but it should be good as well.

If you never played Baldur's Gate 2, I highly recommend it.  The original Baldur's gate is not needed to get into 2 as there are just a couple of references to it early on.  I personally believe that 2 was far better than 1.

Planescape Torment is another golden oldie.  Give it a chance if you haven't yet.  Should be able to find it for dirt cheap on ebay or something.

The Fallout games are two of the best RPGs ever made for the PC.

All told, there has never been an RPG quite as good as KOTOR.  That is why it ranks as high as it does.  However there are a lot of great PC RPGs out there.  Jade Empire and Mass Effect will be more similar experiences to KOTOR, but there are plenty out there that are great.

Crap, yeah, Arcanum is greatness.  Kind of buggy though... moreso than most.  But if it will run right on your system, definitely give Arcanum a go.

why don't you buy a budget graphics card so you can at least play The Witcher and upcoming Mass Effect, it will greatly expand your choices, maybe even Oblivion (flame shield on)

on topic: I found Jade Empire to be not that good but if you find it below 10€ anywhere, you can always give it a try

Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 and Fallout 1 and 2 are kinda oldies but rank my top10 all time ;)

I have high hopes for Dragon Age because it looks to me Bioware wass taking a nap while they developed Neverwinter Nights and Jade Empire

I thought that the main campaign in NWN2 was fun - Good characters, lots of stuff to do and very huge.  Some people had problems running the game though....

I loved KOTOR II, as demosntrated by my sig, and I loved the philosophical aspect of the game. It really made me think:
Quotes from Kreia:
"It is Conflict that strengthens us, Isolation that weakens us, erodes us."
--Kreia
"He cannot kill what he cannot see, power has blinded him long ago." -Kreia
"If you are to truly understand, then you will need the contrast, not adherence to a single ideal."
--Kreia
"And what is it you think you have accomplished? If you seek to aid everyone that suffers in the galaxy, you will only weaken yourself … and weaken them. It is the internal struggles, when fought and won on their own, that yield the strongest rewards. You stole that struggle from them, cheapened it. If you care for others, then dispense with pity and sacrifice and recognize the value in letting them fight their own battles. And when they triumph, they will be even stronger for the victory."--Kreia
"When one relies on sight to perceive the world, it is like trying to stare at the galaxy through a crack in the door."--Kreia
"It is all that is left unsaid upon which tragedies are built."--Kreia
"Be careful of charity and kindness, lest you do more harm with open hands than with a clenched fist."
--Kreia
“The republic was never what was important – ever. It was but a shell that surrounds the Jedi – just as the teachings of a Jedi are a shell surrounding the heart of man. You see, the war, the true war, has never been one waged by droids, machines, warships, or soldiers. They are but a crude matter, obstacles against which we test ourselves. The true war is waged within the hearts of all living things, against our own nature, light or dark. It is a battle of differing ideas, amongst different cultures and teachings. That is what shapes and binds the galaxy, not these creations of man. Indiscriminate compassion weakens the beneficiaries by disallowing them the mental and physical enrichment that life's challenges inherently procure. Ultimately, such compassion thus weakens the very people it is intended to help, cheapening their experience and leaving them more ill-prepared for dealing with things on their own.”--Kreia

---------------
Exile- Kreia what are you Jedi or Sith?

Kreia- Does it matter? Of course it does; such titles allow us to rip the galaxy into two halves: light and dark, good and bad. Perhaps I am neither, and I hold both as what they really are: pieces to a puzzle.
