I have been having a blast with cs source lately, only to remember how many flaws there are to drive my 35 year old self into thought realms like "no more excuses" like I used to get since day one of counterstrike in 1999.
or in regards to netwrok fairness and quality of service truly being equal..COD has been doing it for years. I even played some microsoft gaming back when the net had every excuse but good..and it still functioned fairly.

I decided to install the half life2 just to verify a new vid card install recently, I have outgrown it no doubt. I have sincerely outgrown all of valves stuff, it has been 10 years with no real good memories. Hack hack hack. That is all I have received, after giving the best of my custom pc building skillz in humble donation to play. phenomonal at first,10 years ago, but the genre and net play is everywhere now...evolving realistically.

Anyway, that felt good to say after many many times saying it.
Is cod4 any good? that seems to be where Iam headed for somewhat adult gaming, rarely to play, but did read it had one heck of a story line, and descriptions of online play, like the first cod, being very good, but better.I do remember the net and gameplay being disciplined at all times for cod...
any similar genres to that mentioned where hacks are so bluntly not allowed, and net is fantastically correct as it really can be? I am not up on gaming, and do not fall for just story lines. I need the other facts to go with it. My pc can play anything as of now, open to adult suggestions.

Before this bluntly facted post disappears for the fifth year in a row...

hmm, so you want a game that no one hacks in correct?

sorry your post is hard to follow and so i ain't sure exactly waht to suggest but as far as online gaming goes you can always try Red Orchestra. great game and nothing like source ones.(you gotta love tf2 though, surely).

Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of COD4:MW... it's a great game, graphics are amazing, gameplay (as with the other cod's) is amazing... the single player is very good as well.

It's a very good purchase and you'll be happy that you got it.

Now, that being said, I just started getting into the Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 game. It's pretty fun, a total different pace of play then cod4. They added the sprint feature to it and alot of COD4 players are using that to it's advantage & the older vegas players aren't so fond of it as they think it adds to much run'n'gun to the game. Taking away from the advanced cover option they have to it. Which is fun to use but can make it easy to get blindsided while using it. Fun game though, the multiplayer co-op is awesome as with the Team Leader gametype for online multi-play.

COD4 is much better overall I would say but they both are fun.

hope that may help ya out a bit

Call of Duty 4 is a real winner - graphics are unbelievable for how little it taxes your system resources, and the gameplay is amazing. The single player is pretty short, but it is the best FPS single-player experience I've ever had (yes, much better than HL2 but tied with F.E.A.R. maybe). Then the multiplayer is to die for, too...the whole leveling-up system works wonders and keeps you wanting to play it again and again. I clocked several hours on that game, and loved every minute of it!

Hey BGD73,

If you're looking for a good multiplayer game then I say COD4 is good, but Battlefield 2 is great. It's cheaper, the maps are bigger and you get to drive all sorts of vehicle, helicopters and jets. However, the graphics aren't as sharp as COD4 and if you're a big fan of CS then COD4 would be more of the same than BF2. Still, if you haven't try BF2, I strongly recommend downloading the demo and try it out!

Hmm... I prefer HL2 as its story always gets me. Love it. Can't see why you don't.

COD4 was fun, or the demo was at least. Crysis has a bit but I got bored really fast. Even when you do all sorts of things it seems like a prettier version of FarCry.

C&C3 and the expansion Kanes Wrath is really good. I beat C&C3, hardest part was taking on both Scrin and NOD.

Well i found crysis awesome and COD4 tiresome to say the least.

Wasnt impressed with gameplay at all, graphics were quite nice but neither to the scale of crysis. Not that crysis doesnt have its bad points...

Multiplayer wise...Havnt played COD4 enough to give an informed opinion, crysis was fun for a bit but needs the update (which is suposed to bring more modes i hope?) Hacking wise...i find it very good as long as you use secure servers. I stil lfind my self going back and playing CS 1.6 though lol.
