I refuse to deal with the rebate scene. For many years now I tell the store sell me at the rebated price and u do the work. 90% of the time with the larger store the do it. Somehow they must have the ability to stop the rebate on the item I have bought.
Look at best buy no more rebates and they were the ones who taught me it could be done back in 2005.
I am not one who likes to deal but in this very competitive market they grumble and do it some have taken the UPC code off. On the other side of that is I save the sales tax where as if I have to send in a rebate I pay the tax.
Micro Computer, Tiger direct, Egg Head, Comp USA, Bands Mart are the most willing to do it to make the sale. You will not get a print out of the rebate offer so I assume ther eis no double dipping.

I do agree that rebates are a pain, but only because they take 3-4 months to arrive. In all honesty, I have to say that I have received 100% of the rebates I have filed in the past 10 years, so if you fill them out correctly, they are money in the bank.
I've never considered asking Newegg to convert a mail-in rebate into an instant rebate, but I'll definitely try it next time I shop.
