Hello everyone, Its that time for me again.. I haven't upgraded my PC in about 1 1/2 years so its time for me to get my yearly advice and start the build!

I am looking for advice on good combos for the following items:

Motherboard
CPU
Case/PSU
Ram

I currently have a MSI board with Athlon XP 1700, 512MB of PC2100 DDR Ram (2x 256), Asus 7200 Geforce3.. I plan to use this box as a Linux box once the building of the new machine is completed.

I could use advice/links/info and any recommendations.

Thanks.

After doing some research it appears that I might go with a

Asus A7N8X
Athlon XP 2700 333FSB
512MB DDR400?? To take advantage of Dual-Channel (Need feedback here)
Need advice on video card as well...
As for sound on-board that should just as good as SB Live etc correct?

Decided on the Athlon?

Just a few days ago, I assembled a P4 system with P42.4Ghz and Asus P4PE mobo.

Anyways, don't want this to be a AMD/Intel war zone. So, I'll just recommend on the case. I used an Antec case that came with a 330W Antec Trupower PSU. I must admit since my last session of assembling a system, the cases have come a long way. My last session was about 3 years ago and I used an Enlight case then. It was a pleasure to work with the antec case.

Happy assembling.
