Multiplayer gamers will soon be able to gamble on their abilities and earn money in competitive matches. WorldGaming.com is set to bring online wagering to multiplayer games on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
i thought this thread would be ad spam when i saw the title and also.... what about hackers?
Well, that's probably a big reason why they're not doing this for the PC. But yes, it's a huge risk even for the PSN and Xbox Live. Basically, their technology only validates the results of the matches (ie., prevents people from falsifying officials scores on Xbox Live or PSN). But it's up to Microsoft and Sony to make sure no one is using cheats or hardware mods to get a leg up. And if there's enough money at stake, I'm sure there are going to be a lot of folks that will try it.
