The beta v1.5 is out with Wake Island and Shingle. I am running on AGP still and can't run Shingle that well but Wake Island is pretty good. Any BF2142 players out there? What do you think of the new maps?

hmm cool they actually did an update... i had fun with that game for a while... but it eventually came to an end...

might have to load it abck up and do that update... thanks for the heads up and if I do it soon i'll let ya know how it is

It's still being played? It took them more time to port wake island to 2142 than to actually make 2142 lol. Fun game, but I got bored looking at sand and snow. Some mods were fun (star wars mostly).

I've played a little of the new maps so far... a little laggy and not very many populated servers.... I can't wait until the final patch... I'm sure to play more then.

What was the best star wars mod for this game? Could you post a link please?

cant try it out for 3 weeks as im away from my pc till then :( will definetly try it and the finished patch, looking forward to widescreen support i heard is coming/here with the beta already. 1152x864 is just to low, monitors max res is 1400x900 which neither bf2 or bf2142 supports, my fave games! :cry:

how have they done wake island? is it snowing? wrecked japanese planes or wrecked futuristic stuff?

hows shingle by the way, does it at least look fun from what youve seen of it already?

First Strike mod, you can play battles on the ground with vehicles etc similar to bf2/2142 or battles in space! You just select a spawn point, imperials usually spawn inside the Star Destroyer and launch in TIE fighters/bombers, or you could fly the stupid looking cruisers or TIE Interceptors. Rebels get the Y-wing, B-wing, X-wing, A-wing and Blockade Runner and maybe some other ship I can't remember. It's fun. The medical ship is even there :)

OT - I was a BF2 nut that couldn't really stop playing BF2 and get into 2142. I may have to install it again and see as I haven't played BF2 over 6 months. (TF2 or nothing)

There is snow on wake island and it has a titan ship with a flag. Shingle looks like it has a lot of potential. It is a wider Camp Gilbralter. I need to go back and change my settings to be able to play it though because it is really laggy. Haven't gotten a chance to check it out that much.


I am a BF addict. I haven't played the COD4 multiplayer...how does it compare?

I play under FlappyKankles for 2142. I had an older account but it got screwed up for some reason. Had to start over again... [:wr2:1]

What is your sn? When I get back to the states I will add you in.
