I have recently partitioned my hard drive and installed a second copy of XP pro (simply to run games with no extra software or services running) When computer starts up I get the option of which copy to load, The original loads with no problems, when I select the second it loads to the blue win XP logo screen the stops. However when I use my partition software to set active the 'games' partition (nos 2) and boot stright into that it works, no problem. It is a pain to have to boot via floppy just to change partition when XP has a built in boot manager, any ideas anyone, thank you in advance. PS Boot.ini below,

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Performance" /fastdetect

why install two copies. Just set up a different profile at boot. I have an unaltered install profile, normal internet/network profile, and a gameing profile to select at boot. The gameing profile has all services disabled except what is necessary to run xp and games.
do a google search on 'windows xp profiles' and then one on 'xp services' and I am sure something will come up.
