Hey there. I've been brewing all vacation long the idea of upgrading the 3 systems that are running in my house.
the first one is for me, i use it when im away at the University (I only live with my parents during vacation) and the other two are for use at my parent's house, one for my brother and the other is for my parents (and I claim it for my own when i cant bring the one I use when im in classes). so here are the specs:
LichoPC
AMD Athlon 1.2Ghz
256MB PC133 SDRAM
GeForce3 Ti200 64MB DDR
SB Live! 5.1 OEM
Asus A7V133 BIOS R. 1008A
HDD 20GB
Netgear FA310TX
TDK VeloCD 12/10/32X
LiteOn 16X DVD
Samsung SyncMaster 753DF 17" CRT
MS Optical mouse
WinXP Pro
Hauppage WinTV

BroPC
Intel Celeron 600Mhz (66Mhz Bus)
256MB PC100 SDRAM (2x128MB DIMM)
Graphics Blaster Riva TNT 16MB (UGH!)
Integrated Audio
AOpen AX3S Pro BIOS R. 1.23
HDD 6GB
Netgear FA310TX
PC-DVD Dxr2 5X
AOC Spectrum 4V 14" CRT (UGH!)
Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer
WinXP Pro

MomPC
AMD Duron 750Mhz
256MB PC100 SDRAM
3D Prophet 4500 64MB (KyroII)
SB Live! Value
AOpen AK33 BIOS R. 1.23
HDD 30GB
Netgear FA310TX
TDK VeloCD 16/10/40X
ViewSonic E771 17" CRT
Logitech MouseMan Optical
WinXP Pro

WHEW! well, I'm thinking 'bout upgrading LichoPC's motherboard, to maybe an A7N8X Deluxe, so I can change the mainboard of MomPC, cause it has the main USB ports damaged (If you plug anything on them, the dont do a thing, the mouses don't even power up!) and to transfer the SB Live! in LichoPC to BroPC. Moving on to the obsolete video subsystems, what can I do to better them out? I thougt of buying a Radeon9700 for LichoPC and transfer the GF3 to BroPC so I improve it's gaming capabilities, but MomPC is really slow (Here are the http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=5559169 scores that I've been able to squeeze from it) and don't know how to improve it, cause I see that the score is significantly lower than other kyroII similar systems, without overclocking it, since the systems don't have adequate cooling (they only have the fan that comes with the power supply blowing air out of the pc, no other fans in the case, apart from those on the cpu and video card). I've even considered buying an LCD screen and hooking it up to MomPC so I can move the CRT to BroPC and forget about playing games in MomPC, but I'm not sure bout that move.
Then it comes down to the last case, where I can't upgrade BroPC to GHz levels, cause it's motherboard doesn't support Tualatin CPU's and the Coppermines are hard as hell to find in the GHz level (remember, I'm not really into overclocking, and this mainboard is particularly bad at overclocking, cause there is no way of running the system bus at 100MHz, when I switch the internal jumper to something else from automatic, the system doesn't boot {no video} and in the BIOS it doesn't go any higher than 83MHz)
My idea, so far, is to buy the A7N8X Dlx, keep actual cpus untouched, buy 1 stick of Corsair XMS 512MB CL2 3200DDR, move the A7V133 to MomPC (remember the faild USB on the AK33, and I need the 4 ports)
Do I badly need another board aside of the alredy planned for A7N8X Dlx.? Or is my plan ok?
