Hi. Can anyone tell me with the new Dual DDR boards, like the Asus A7N8X, do you have to use two DIMMs(like 2 X 256), or can you use one (1 X 512). Are there any disadvantages to using only one DIMM? Thanks for your help.

You can use one. Two are not required. You need two to run in dual channel mode, but it doesn't give you much of a boost unless you are running 3D intensive software.

I have the A7N8X Deluxe w/ 1 stick of 512 MB Corsair 3200 CL2 Memory. You need CL2 to get the most out of your RAM.
