At what refresh rate does the flicker get to be hard on the eyes. I'm going to check out the monitors in person before buying but I'd like to narrow down my choices first.
Well, it depends on people!
Theoretically past the 30 Hz, the human eye shouldn´t notice the difference!
But, i know of people that couldn´t stand watching a monitor at 70 Hz!
The best you could get its at 100 Hz (Any resolution!)
, just check and see!
The best monitors are from Sony! Depending on your needs you can buy a 17" G-200 (My own monitor! No words to describe it! Perfect image quality!), 19" G-400 and 21" G-500!
The best you can do , is going to some Computer Store and
see which monitor meets your standars!
Choose carefully because you are going to live with it for a long time!
Better burn in Hell with some company than freeze in Heaven all alone
All monitors will do 60Hz, but that can be very hard on the eyes. I think it has been shown that the flicker effects diminish at about 72Hz, but personally, I can't stand anything below 85Hz. Remember that it is the hard lines on a computer screen that require the high refresh rates (your tv is ~30Hz), so go for a high quality monitor that can provide a high refresh rate at your desired resolution.
yeh any thing above 75 is pretty good
some how my refresh raate got swithched to 60 agian and man did it kill my eyes
but know i got back to 75 and man is alot better for reading text off of for longer peroids of time
