My current specs:

Intel Core2Duo CPU overclocked at 1.86GHZ
2GB DDR2 Ram
Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS 256MB

I'm looking to use my current GeForce 8600GTS as a secondary card in a 3-LCD (3xSyncmaster 205BW 20" Wide) and 2-card setup.

Primarily used for gaming (SecondLife, World of Warcraft) hoping to run at about 3840X1024 resolution, as well as a Home Office.

Would I be best off using two identical GeForce 8600 GTS cards? Can anyone suggest a higher end mid-range card as my primary card in such a setup?

Cheers,

-creep

I don't think 2x8600s will be able to drive all that monitor space for gaming, you'd be better off gaming on one monitor with a more powerful card.

Question to all.
Can you mix and match GPUs if you have no intention of CF/SLI? ie. keep the 8600 to drive 2 monitors for office apps and get a 8800/9800 for gaming on the third?

Yes. You just have to set the one you want to use for gaming as your default graphics.
