Has anyone tried this game?
And if so...how did you get it to register. So far i have found a complete lack of support for this product and the online registering system is a joke. You cant get game content until you register and that so far seems to be near impossible!!

thanx

I didn't have a problem and it seems the same process hasn't changed.

hmm, great game, never had a problem registering AFAIK, what game content are you referring to and why do you need it?

Great game; no problems so far (crashed once as far as I remember, while loading new surroundings); But the really big question is now: when will the bonus content appear for download? They said it would be may, but I haven't seen anything of it so far. Anyone know? Because I will for sure play this great game a second time...

The bonus content is what i was refering too. Ill never get it, Theres only one way to register the game and iv done everything short of reloading xp to try to get it to work. The registering process is bugged. I spent over 20 hours on forums and messing with my sys settings trying ot figure it out.

So you are saying the bonus content is up and running?

Reply to aziraphale

ah, i get the content you are referring to, ain't that included in the patches? do you have to be registered to receive the patches? it has been a while since i bought it.

There's supposed to be a couple hours of bonus content with the new 1.3 patch. I haven't downloaded it yet, as I played through ver 1.1a. I had no problem getting the 1.1 patch (even though it still crashed continuously).

If I get a chance this weekend, I'll try getting 1.3 and see if I have any problems downloading it.

Yes, the new patch does have new content but you really need to start a new game for it to work properly.

Also, as for the D'jinni level editor that was released quite recently too and i tihnk there is another patch coming (which will also be sold as a special edition game) which includes yet more new things...kind of like an expansion.

I've forwarded this link over to our community team so hopefully we can get it sorted. As a few others have mentioned, the reg process SHOULD work, but you know how things go sometimes.

Anyway, to clear up some of the other questions here... The Witcher: Enhanced Edition (the re-release of the retail product + the free online release of all the updated content) was delayed to let us make sure it meets everyone's expectations. The original May release date made me go "uhh, guys, you're nuts" so we've now moved it to a more sensible "when it's done" :) We'll probably announce the date in the next few weeks.

Probably in the next few weeks? Are you kidding?

Sounds to me, that this "free bonus stuff" is nothing more than a PR gag. Just delay it until nobody cares anymore. I am truly disappointed and feel doublecrossed.

wtf are you on about. christ, it was a great game that didn't need bonus content.

Hmm. Sorry that you feel that way, but "free bonus stuff" is about #20 on the list of things we're including in the Enhanced Edition. This is basically trying to fix every criticism people had -- loading times going down by 80%, re-writing and re-recording over 5000 lines of dialogue, adding over 200 new animations... it's not a little patch by any means. We already released one of the adventures and the D'jinni adventure editor for free... the Enhanced Edition will have another adventure in it.

The truth of the matter is that we're waiting for some legal stuff to get sorted before we formally announce the new release date. That should (I hope) be done within two weeks or so, and then we'll be able to say when it's coming. We shouldn't have announced a release date in the first place... but we did.

There're other games you might prefer, ones that'll offer "bonus stuff" as an add-on you can buy later.

That seems to be the norm for PS3 titles now.

So many people complaining about free stuff these days.

Celtic that's the way it goes sometimes.
Currently doing a full install because my 14 year old downloaded a virus. Was a nasty little thing too.
Luckily I've learned to place my Backup's and Important stuff on an external that I unhook when I leave.

Mr. Ohle,
Thanks for your refreshing candor on the status of The Witcher Enhanced Edition. I look forward to playing this game again once the EE is finished and released.

Hi Tom Ohle, thanks for the update. It's rare to hear someone from the industry posting in here, I think.

I will certainly get the Enhanced Edition once it's out.
