I tried installing mandrake v10, but I can't get it to display anything remotely clear. I have a viewsonic vg191b (19in) flat panel monitor with a geforce fx 5200. Anyone out there know a setting that will work with this? I've tried just about everything and it wont display it correctly.

Are you running X at the screens native resolution. Flat panel monitors like having things in their native resolution, otherwise they look ultrashitty without some serious softening.

You could try cycling the screen resolutions by pressing Ctrl+Alt+[Key pad +] and Ctrl+Alt+[Key Pad -] to see if one of them fits.

for a typical 19" screen I'm guessing the native resolution would be 1280x1024.
