Asus A7M266 ?

Quick question for you guys. I'm looking to upgrade my processor and was wondering how high up I could go. Am I only limited by the front side bus? Right now I have the Athlon 1.4 processor. Could I take it all the way up to the Athlon XP 2600+ with 266 fsb? I've searched all over the web and can't seem to find the answer. Also, will this motherboard take the newest 3d graphics cards, such as the radion 9700 Pro? Thanks in advance.

Asus has a CPU compatability tool that I just used last night on another old motherboard. It told me exactly what bios I needed to use to support the tbreds. Most likely you will need to use a beta bios. The compatability tool knew which bios I needed but when I used the link to d/l it, instead of taking me to the beta bios it took me to the last released bios which was incorrect. I had to go hunt for the appropriate beta.
