I have 5.1 speakers, but the only inputs they have are the 3 colored wires (green, black, orange). As far as I know, 360 can only get surround sound through optical. Any way I can get surround sound through my speakers? Any kind of adapter or something?
You need an AV reciever. Tallguy has no idea what he is talking about, no speakers use HDMI, only TVs and A/V Recievers. Any sort of typical A/V reciever will have optical in to analog out, and then depending on what type of cable your speakers use, you may need adapter cables and possibly an amplifier if they are large and do not have built-in amps.
sorry im not an expert in speakers. I just remember this thing came with the 360 that u use when u are plugging into the speakers seperate from the tv.
