while I'm not too into mmo's shadowbane was able to prevent lag no matter which setting you used by having this simple fix

you select the frame rate range that you want

then it will automatically play with the settings in real time to keep those frame rates

so when there's like 70 people in 1 place doing as many magic attacks as possible, the game will automatically control many different settings in real time to prevent lag


while it is good to just make a game thats designed for more people to be able to run by not focusing only on graphics to the point that no one can run it

it is still good to have something that will automatically control settings to prevent lag

That is a nice option. More crucial for MMOs than anything else, but that option would be really nice to include in MMOs.

if more games could do it then it will take the guess work out of messing with settings on lower end machines
