no, but i will try anything to play longer than 2 mins

ok, i tried the compatability mode system and it still crashed.
i'm telling ya, i am GETTING ANGRY.

Have you checked your temps?

what does that mean?

temperatures of your components.

Some quick questions to help us help you...

What are your system specs? (i.e. model of processor, motherboard, graphics card, memory)

When did you last update your drivers? Do you know the version numbers?

What are your system temperatures?

Are you noticing any other strange behaviour from your PC? (Odd sounds etc)

Are any other programs effected, or just Half Life?

What operating system are you running? Have you got the latest patches / service packs for it?

I think he's referring to the fact that your PC isn't particularly powerful and is suprised that it manages to even run XP, never mind Half Life.

..what shader model does that card support? like 1.0?

tbh, i have seen 1ghz p3's running xp with 128MB or ram, it ain't pretty especially when you have an "IT" department who put the same progs on every comp regardless of spec's like virus scanners which run at startup that you cannot disable.

since that is a home comp, i would expect even more useless junk to be installed on it.
