Blizzard announced Diablo III over the weekend and immediately we had a ton of questions about the game. From gameplay footage and official statements we're able to glean a few facts.

I want to know more about the looting system, the other classes of course, whether there is any more character customization than gender and class, what the equipment slots are, and whether there are belt potions at all anymore.

Developers said that there will be potions but they'll not play such a major role as in previous games.

Loot system, every player will get different items that will not be shown to other players.

I speculate that the game will be finished in 1 to 2 years and the system requirements will be something like in starcraft2's. Well these were just my guesses :p

They did mention that the potion belt has been replaced with the skill hotbar and that there are health drops from monsters to boost health. I think they want to get away from the total reliance on potions but I'd expect potions to still play a part.

Details, where did you find this? Is this just speculation too?

If this is true that would be awesome. Not perfect but a hell of a lot better than it was.

I've seen quite a few videos and I can't believe how much information is already available for this game; It's quite a launch for a teaser.

I know of 2 characters so far: Barbarian (with pretty much all the same tricks + extras) and the Witch Doctor (Which seems to be in the middle of the Sorcerer and Paladin).

The scenery is awesome. Destructive environment, good looking background and animations, and a few tweaks of the Diablo II game.

However, I've learned from the past. I am not expecting this game to launch anytime soon. The tech demos shown already look pretty advanced (looks good enough to ship out). Although, no one (even EA) could afford to fail launch such a big franchise...and taking the time to make the game "perfect" is what's going to keep us waiting for a couple of christmas before we see it in the shelves.

Also, it doesn't seem like they will make it a monthly fee MMO...which is good. We all know what happened to Hellgate London.

Hellgate London was that giant sucking sound that H Ross Perot heard back in 1992. The noise of it traveled through time and drove him insane. True story.

I want to send Bill Roper a congratulatory letter upon release of Diablo III.

"Dear Bill,

Thanks for leaving Blizzard North (read: Threatening to quit and having your bluff called by a competent CEO), and bringing all of your crappy ideas to Hellgate: London, far, far away from Diablo III.

Sincerely,
YOUR MOM LOL"

He's totally gonna be wondering why his mom would send him a letter like this. That'll show him.

HG:L is doing fine, they're got version 2.0 on the test center and it looks great, in game mailing, auction house, new areas, guild enhancements, new skills, more balance

the problem was EA pushing it out too early, Blizzard doesn't have to work with EA or any other publisher, so they'll put it out when they think its ready, EA was stupid to rush it out for a Halloween release, EA cares more about quantity of games published, not quality, their philosophy is ship out a bunch of titles, 1 of them will make money

True - and yet people still go and buy them. Can't say I blame EA.

It was said at WWI on diablo3's developers panel. Unfortunately I have no source to backup this.

You'd expect to get a ready game when bought from the store. I seriously think EA should be punished for the policies it uses.
