I've got a Gigabyte 7vaxp and a Asus a7n8x.
The GB has some serious issues with video cards. So does the Asus board.
I'd gotten the GB to play several games, pretty stable, with a Geforce2 GTS card. It had a tendency to reset the display every once in a while. Previously, two RMA'd boards before, I'd gotten a GF4 Ti4200 to work on it for nearly a month. Then it refused to even POST with a display. On three seperate boards.
The Asus board works with the GF4, halfway. It posts, loads the os, and works it's way around windows. But games are another matter. It will run an OpenGL game (I've only used Icewind Dale 2 as a test, so far) for a little while, but hard locks and restarts/bluescreens the computer after a couple of minutes. Direct 3d games load, but the first time textures are loaded, the screen shows then intermittently and locks the machine up, hard.
Granted, I'm using XP Pro without service pack 1. And I guess I'll have to download that 100meg monster, and give it a try. But either way, the Nforce2 board is a little more usable than the KT400 board.
It seems like all the benchmarks are using Radeon 9700's. And all the other people saying they love the boards are using TNT2 cards.
And all the people having problems are using an Audigy. And a Ti4200 card.
My experience.
