GemTek to ship USB dongles to Nintendo in October
GemTek Technology has secured orders to manufacture external wireless USB dongles for Nintendo's game consoles, with volume shipment to begin in October, according to market sources and an October 6 report in the Chinese-language Commercial Times . Read more
New deal brings handwriting abilities to Nintendo DS
The Nintendo DS handheld console has added handwriting recognition to its features, with a deal being announced this week with Zi Corporation to bring the Decuma handwriting technology to the platform. Read more
Nintendo applies for voice to text software patent
Nintendo of America filed for a patent to cover voice to text chat conversion. Patent application 20060025214 was filed in July 29, 2004 with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), but has only appeared on the agency's website recently. Nintendo believes that voice to text conversion could enhance online games by altering color and font size of text depending on the tone and amplitude of the speaker's voice. Read more
GDC 2006: Nintendo to make Sega games available for "Revolution" console
No "Revolution" launch date announcement - that's the news from Nintendo at GDC. President Satoru Iwata avoided to mention any specifics about the upcoming game console in his GDC speech, but at least promised to expand the Revolution's download service with more classic games - including Sega titles. What kind of improvements would you guys want to see if there's a new DS. I've always had a problem with the volume control on the bottom of the DS because my pinky would sometimes move it by accident so I put it on the side this time. please add in any suggestions if you have any.
