Famed writer-director John Milius has worked on a number of classic films, from "Jaws" and "Dirty Harry" to "Red Dawn" and "Apocalypse Now." But he's also lent his skills to the video game industry. Tom's Games talks with Milius about gaming, movies and everything in between.
Man, Milius is so awesome. I mean, he's a right-wing whacko and a complete egomaniac, but he always has something interesting to say. Conan is one of my all time favorite films. It's not a great film - Don't get me wrong - but it is 3/4 of a great film. Score was amazing, set design and constumes were great, plot was sufficient. Stunts were generally incredible. Then there's the acting, dialogue and direction, which is either great or alternatively awful.
If you are a fan of the movie, you should definitely watch the special edition with the director/cast commentary and the "making of" documentary - both are priceless (the doc is just outstanding and Ahnuld's commentary is just hilarious).
I didn't know that he did some of the writing that was mentioned in this article. Very interesting.
