Hello.

Recently I've been working on a dell laptop running windows xp. Whenever I boot up the computer, I get a pagefile.sys is too small error anytime I try to load any user, regardless of the pagefile.sys size that I make it. When I disable the pagefile, everything works great. Wierd thing is, I can't find the pagefile anywhere, even with hidden files and folders being shown, as well has operatin system files being shown, and when I run a search for it, nothing comes up, so I can't delete it. I'm pretty sure it is corrupted, it's just no where to be found.

Thanks in advance.

Should be able to locate it through the performance section under virtual memory. Have you tried increasing the virtual memory size then reboot? If its not there then it is corrupted and thats why you get that error.

Otherwise if you can get away from using virtual memory the better off you are.

If you want to see the pagefile.sys, you got to go to tools -> folder option -> view -> uncheck the hide protected operating system files.

You'll see it in the drive where the virtual memory is set.
