I have a MSI N275GTX TwinFrozr OC GeForce GTX 275 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Retail I bought at Newegg for $235 on 9/1/2009.
My Newegg review:
Pros: I was able to overclock the Video Card. Running full screen benchmarks in 1900 x 1200 for a minute, I had an o3Marks score from 1600 (default settings) to 4143 with an FPS avg from 22 (default settings) to 69. Max GPU Temp at 75C.
Default Core Clock from 666 MHz to 720 MHz
Default Shader Clock from 1476 MHz to 1596 MHz
Default Memory Clock from 1161 MHz to 1260 MHz
Cons: While the highest o3Marks score was 4143 after trying different settings, the average score I've been getting is 3501 with the same settings as the highest score with a 58 FPS average. Still, more than doubled the default setting performance. Not really a con, but would always like to see more of an overclock.
Other Thoughts: Doesn't come with a game... but Max GPU Temp being 75C is pretty good.
FurMark to stress test and benchmark. GPU-Z to monitor Core Temp. EVGA Precision to hardware overclock (Riva-Tuner wouldn't work with the latest drivers, and EVGA Precision you have to reboot in order for the settings to kick in).
Note: The latest firmware update with NVidia is unable to software overclock, just so you know. You either need a previous version of the firmware, or wait until they fix the issue.
Prices of video cards, along with SSD's and memory have gone up. Name your price and I might consider.
