R.click the folder,open,set-up should start auto.You can also,from a web
site,select download in open instead of saving to desktop.

Hi, Joey;

As Andrew already posted, there may be a Setup.exe in that folder that you
can use to launch the install of that program. Or the file may be named
Install.exe or something similar.

Without more info, it's hard to say what your next action should be. You
may want to re-check the website where you downloaded this program to see if
they have a Readme or Install instructions document that you can use.

If you're new to XP (presuming you are since you posted to "new users" xp
group):

What program are you trying to install? It would help to know.

If the folder is one with a "zipper" on it it means it is a compressed file,
so double click (or right-click and "Extract) it to start the extraction
process and specify where to extract the files (eg to a new folder within My
Documents). Then go to that folder and see if there's a setup.exe or
whatever and doubleclick to start the installation process.

If that doesn't work , return to the web site you got it from and make sure
you've downloaded the correct file.
