I think I've tried it all but who knows. I am building a system with this
SPECS:
Abit AT7
1800xp Pal with stock HS
256Meg DDR (Micron)
Geforce 2 Ultra
IBM 40 gig.
etc.

PROBLEM: When I cold boot the machine, Everything works (hours on end). But on ANY reboot the monitor goes standby and the computer lets out a long beep followed by long silence and continues the pattern. If I shut it off then back on, everything is working again. Doesn't matter if the bios reboots, the OS, or the reset button.

tried 3 different PSU
flashed the bios
cleared cmos a dozen times
tried just about everything I can think of in the bios.
Removed all devices except video, ram, cpu. (No Drives)
Wanted to try another video but my older cards don't fit.
Reseated the video, Ram, and CPU.
Put fresh AS2 on the CPU.

Thanks for any help. This one has me stumped. I guess I can buy a new mobo. :((((

ok. I know this is a tough issue. It just got harder. I called my brother who already has this board and told him about my problem. He said his does the exact same thing! Did Abit mess up thier boards??? I think he has a 1700 PAl in his. He told me he just doesn't reboot. But if you guys can help out he would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Strangeness seems to occur when the "PnP Aware OS" setting in the BIOS is set to Yes/On/Enabled, set it to No/Off/Disabled. See if that helps.
