So I need a cheapy computer for the gf to run sims/wow and some other relatively outdated games. I ran into this one at the dell outlet and think it's perfect for only $270:
Media Bay
16X DVD +/- RW w/dbl layer write capability
It has a PCI-e x16 slot to help if I really needed a boost. While sempron is the budget AMD, the model was released in Jan 2008.
For something to hold me over to play sims/wow (+expansions), will this thing work out? I have a computer of my own to play newer games that I care about, I just don't want to buy a piece of garbage just because it's cheap.
everything is good but the cpu. but she is only going to play WoW and Sims. the cpu has a 512KB L2 cache. with out getting to technical L2 cache is how fast the CPU read/write to the physical memory. but i wouldn't expect to play CoD4 on it with all high setting anytime soon. =P
