Stop minimizing?

I have a dual monitor setup and when I play my games I like to keep the game on my primary monitor and my chat applications on my secondary monitor so I can just move my mouse to the other screen and chat when needed. However when I move my cursor to the secondary monitor, the game minimizes. It is very anoying and leads to many deaths while in online play. Is there a way I can keep my games from minimizing when I move my cursor over to my secondary monitor to chat for a bit?
