I have a GA-8IHXP board with an 2.53 p4 533mhz and 2x kingston pc1066 256MB, an intel modem, a Evga 128 GForce 4 Ti4200, 2 maxtor drives in a raid config, SB audigy gamer and an extra HD a dvd and cdrw

The problem I am having is that its a bit slow booting and I fixed it a bit because i forgot to change the FSB from 100 to 133.33 and I keep getting a new hardware found a (SM Bus Controller) but I can't find the driver for it and I have tryed everything including the Driver cd that came with the board. what can I do and what is this controller for and where did it come from? THANKS!

This is not a PC... its and expensive desk ornament!

from usenet:

This device is the System Management Bus controller; in other words, it's
responsible for the bus that links the various hardware management devices
on your motherboard, for example fan / voltage / temperature monitoring
hardware.

In the case of motherboards based on more recent Intel chipsets, you need to
install the "Intel .INF chipset Update", which should have been supplied on
a CD with your board. If not, you can download it from

Exactly...not only get the latest inf files from intels website but also download intel's application accelerator, which will improve performance signifigantly.
