Windows XP 32bit, Asus S939 A8N-E, Stock cooled Opteron 165 @2.25Ghz with 1.2625 V undervolt with 250x9 settings Prime95 stable 24h, 2 x 1 Gb DDR 400 in Dual Channel Crucial Rend (i.e. budget) RAM, Antec Sonata II with (yes) a new PSU Thermaltake W0090RU 470W with 29 amps on 12v rails as the Smartpower was of the "bad batch" and wouldn't power the HDD. Also of note, as most people want to know, I have mounted an Antec Tri-Speed fan in front of an EVGA 8800GTS 640MB, and it fits FINE. Trust me. I set both fans to MED, and here are the temps in ambient 26 deg. C: CPU-39, System-36, GPU 59 under NO LOAD. LOAD: CPU-44, System-39, GPU-69. Another vote: Go for the 640MB 8800GTS, even OLD games like Doom 3, Quake 4, and GRAW search your hardware for over 512Mb cards if I recall to play with hi res textures. Also, I can FINALLY play FarCry WELL!! LOL, hope this helps. Only thing I learned of value: High-end videocard=easier headshots, shoulda got a new case and more AMP PSU and GTX, you enjoy 5 games a bit more justifies the price difference!
